There’s so much to do, and it’s easy to have fun with Parks and Recreation any time of the year!
The Crook County Parks and Recreation District coordinates dozens of indoor and outdoor recreation programs throughout the year. Many of these activities take place in parks and facilities managed by the District; an area totaling more than 100 acres of land.
Parks & Fields - For outdoor gatherings, private parties may use park areas provided reservations are made in advance. Our Parks & Fields section will assist you in selecting a park for your next event as well as provide you with general park descriptions and addresses. You can also view our real time availability calendar to see if the date you would like is available.
Recreation Programs - These programs include both indoor and outdoor classes as well as physical activities. Some activities offered are tennis, karate, basketball, gymnastics, Hunter education, painting, outdoor cooking, and swimming. A number of special events are held annually including the Fishing Derby, Western Daze (formerly Summer Fest), and the Daddy/Daughter Dance. The District publicizes a tri-annual recreation guide. View the Recreation Guide to see which programs are currently being offered or stop by the District office and pick up a copy. Registrations can be made online or at the Parks and Recreation District Office.
Swimming Pool - The heated outdoor swimming pool is open during the summer months from mid-June through August. The pool is located on the south side of Ochoco Creek Park next to the District office. The opening of the pool is always kicked off with a small fee swim and social event.
The pool can also be reserved for private parties, Saturday and Sunday. Reservations in advance are required. You can print out the pool reservation form and bring it to the Parks office May through August. Click here to view pool information and fee schedule.
Skating Rink - The roller skating rink at Crooked River Elementary School gymnasium is open during the school year, with regular skating sessions on Friday and Saturday nights as well as several special sessions throughout the year. With advance notice, private parties may rent the facility on a Saturday afternoon, September through the end of May.
