FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED? The physical address is 398 NE Fairview. We're in the southwest corner of the swimming pool parking lot.

WHEN DOES THE POOL OPEN AND CLOSE? The pool opens the last day of school and closes the Friday of Labor Day weekend.  The summer pool season opens annually with a low cost swim and social event in the afternoon on the last day of school.

DO YOU HAVE ROLLER SKATING DURING THE SUMMER? The roller skating rink is open only during the school year, September through mid-June.  Look for roller skating lessons for youth in the summer program.

HOW CAN I RESERVE THE PARK FOR MY EVENT? Park reservations for the current year may be made in person or by telephone at any time after January 2. You will then be requested to come to the Parks office within two weeks to complete the registration form and pay any applicable fees. 

HOW CAN I KNOW WHICH PARK IS AVAILABLE AND WHAT AMENITIES IT OFFERS?  By going to our online site, you can view what days have already been reserved in a specific park, or by a type of park. You can look at each park and view the different amenities it offers here as well. To see this, go to http://activenet2.active.com/ccparksandrec and click "view parks." Contact the Parks office at 541-447-1209 to verify availability.

WHEN DOES OCHOCO LAKE CAMPGROUND OPEN? Typically Ochoco Campground is open seasonally from April 1 through approximately October 31, and is a non-reservation campground.

WHEN IS THE GATE UNLOCKED AT OCHOCO BOAT RAMP? The gate is unlocked unless low water levels make it unsafe to use.

HOW DO I FIND OUT ABOUT HOSTING AT OCHOCO LAKE CAMPGROUND? Contact the Parks office at 541 447-1209 and we will happily forward the information packet and application to you.  We always welcome new volunteer hosts as well as returning volunteer hosts. 

WHO IS IN CHARGE OF CLEANING OCHOCO CREEK? CCPRD keeps an eye on the portion of the creek that runs through our parks. Ochoco Irrigation is the main contact.

HOW DO I GET A SUMMER PARKS CREW JOB WITH YOU? We advertise for teen summer parks crew in March, and will interview during Spring Break.  Watch for the advertisement in the Central Oregonian, or come by the office and pick up an application anytime in late February or early March.  You must be at least 15 years old.

HOW DO I GET A SUMMER SWIMMING POOL JOB WITH YOU? Watch for an advertisement for lifeguard or water safety instructor in the Central Oregonian anytime after March 1. 

HOW DO I GET A JOB AT THE SKATING RINK? We take applications for employment at the skating rink through out the year.  You must be at least 14 years old to apply, and applications are available at the Parks office, 398 NE Fairview.
