OCHOCO LAKE CAMPGROUND
Where rimrock and timber meet to shade you during your family camping experience!
Operated by Crook County Parks and Recreation District, Ochoco Lake Campground is open seasonally from April 1 through approximately October 31 each year, depending on weather.
Located just seven miles east of Prineville on Highway 26 (11700 NE Ochoco Hwy), Ochoco Lake Campground is situated right on the shores of Ochoco Lake.
There are 22 self-contained camping spaces available on a first-come first-served basis (limit six people per site, including children), payable by cash, check or Visa and Mastercard card. Sites are up to 50 feet long, there are no pull-throughs. Campground hosts do not take reservations, but are always available to campers for assistance, including purchasing firewood or registration.
Four hiker/biker campsites are also available. Potable water, at no cost, is available at four locations throughout the campground.
There is also a concrete boat ramp, completed in 2001, with a large lot providing free parking to accommodate day-use visitors, including boaters.

Day User Amenities: There is a fish cleaning station and a bathroom facility located near the campground entrance for boaters. There is 14 day-use sites situated on the east lakeshore, no permit required. Activities at the lake include water skiing, canoeing, sailing, swimming and fishing year round. Your pet must remain on the leash while in the campground, and with no designated pet area, owners are responsible for pet cleanup.

Campground Host Information
The Parks District is always looking for volunteer campground hosts, and welcomes all inquiries throughout the year, no experience required. Host commitments can range from a month to extended stays from April through October, and volunteer hosts are provided a full-service hookup site for their RV, and smaller pets are welcome. This is a non-paying position, and hosts will get two days off during the week. Hosting Details: Telephone, 22 vehicle campsites, up to 50-feet, no pull-through. Seasonal campground, mid-April through October. One host position, 1-2 month duration with year-round recruitment, emphasis in fall. Work expectations are varied, about 20 hours each week per host; specific duties include promoting self-registration, sell and distribute camp firewood, some minor maintenance and visitor services. General location is seven miles east of Prineville on Ochoco Lake, in high desert region, good climate, and at a favorite fishing area.
