How Pitch Hit & Run Works

Athletes compete in three skills events:

Pitch

Athletes are tested on throwing accuracy. Participants receive five attempts to hit the strike zone target. Hits earn points, with additional points awarded for hitting the bullseye.

Hit

Athletes hit a ball off a tee and are scored based on distance and accuracy. Each participant receives five attempts, and points are awarded based on where the ball lands.

Run

Athletes are timed running from home plate to first base. Each participant receives two attempts, and their fastest time is recorded.

Scores from all three events are combined to create an overall score for each participant.

Advancement Opportunities

Top performers may advance to a Team Championship event.

Team Championship winners are then compared against winners from across the country. The highest overall scores earn an all-expenses-paid trip for the athlete and one parent or guardian to the MLB Pitch Hit & Run Finals, held during the MLB World Series.

Concessions

The Prineville Lions Club will be on site offering concessions during the event.
